The Space Coast Black Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in fostering business growth and sustainability in the region. Through its Government & Legislative Affairs Council, the Chamber collaborates with elected officials, community leaders, Chamber Members, topic experts, and other organizations to shape policies that promote business creation, sustainability, and growth for our Chamber investors and members.

The Council focuses on several key areas that are crucial to the economic health and development of the Space Coast:

  1. Employment

    • Addressing unemployment and underemployment by promoting job creation and workforce initiatives.

  2. Business and Industry Retention

    • Supporting existing businesses to ensure they remain competitive and sustainable, thereby securing jobs and economic stability.

  3. Housing and Living Costs

    • Advocating for affordable housing solutions and policies that help manage living costs for residents.

  4. Environmental Regulations

    • Balancing business interests with environmental responsibility by shaping policies that consider sustainability and ecological impacts.

  5. Workforce Development

    • Developing programs and partnerships that enhance skills and education, ensuring that the workforce meets the demands of modern industries.

The Advisory Council Members play a crucial role in guiding the Chamber's stance on public issues affecting businesses and workers. Their responsibilities include:

  • Discussion and Deliberation

    • Engaging in informed discussions on various issues impacting the business community.

  • Decision Making

    • Voting on the official position that the Chamber will adopt regarding these issues.

Getting Involved

All Chamber Members and their employees are encouraged to join the Government & Legislative Affairs Council meetings & events. Participation in these discussions provides an opportunity to influence policies and decisions that affect the business landscape on the Space Coast.
